EFFECT OF ORGANIC ACIDS ON THE PROPERTIES OF NiW/Al_2O_3 HYDRODESULFURIZATION CATALYSTS

NiW/Al2O3 catalysts without and with the addition of organic acids,such as butyric acid,succinic acid and citric acid,were prepared and characterized by TPR,XRD,HRTEM and SEM-EDS.The effect of various organic acids on the properties and the hydrodesulfurization performance of NiW/Al2O3 catalysts were investigated.The results showed that the addition of organic acids during catalyst preparation could weaken the interaction between metal species(Ni and W) and support,promote the sulfidation of metal species,increase the stacking layer number of WS2 particular,and reduce the agglomeration of metal species.Thus,the hydrodesulfurization activities of catalysts adding succinic acid and citric acid during preparation were higher than that of catalyst prepared without adding organic acid.
