A Study on Mechanical Properties of 5A06 Al-Mg Alloy at Transient Heating

Using thermal strength experiment to test and determine the pivotal parameters such as ultimate strength and thermal stress at the complicated condition of transient heating is very important for reliability estimation,life prediction of aerospace materials and security design of high-speed flight vehicle.There are no ultimate strength and other important token parameters at high temperature transient heating environment in the intensity design handbook yet.In this paper,the high temperature ultimate strength,loading time and other mechanical properties of 5A06 Al-Mg alloy under different transient heating temperatures and load environments were obtained by using experimental simulation system of the transient aerodynamic heating for high-speed flight vehicle.Reliable basis is provided for studying the loading capacity and weight lightened of aerospace materials and structures under transient heating environment.
