Experimental Study on Axial Property for Concrete with Constant Surrounding Pressure Ratio

Exerting surrounding pressure can prevent crack growing in a uniaxially compressed concrete specimen.The behavior of concrete in which there is no crack propagation(called ideal state without damage growth) is researched in this paper.Uniaxial and triaxial monotonic cyclic compressive experiments with various surrounding pressure ratios are carried out on MTS 815.02.The surrounding pressure ratios are varied from 0.15 to 0.22.The influence of surrounding pressure ratio on the compressive stress-strain relationship and the restriction effect of surrounding pressure on the damage growth are investigated.Some different results from the experiments of the same kinds are obtained.The ideal stress-stain curve of concrete which is not influenced by internal damage is proposed.The cyclic loading-unloading stress-stain relationship of concrete under ideal state without damage growth is first studied in this paper. The influence of surrounding pressure to the load-response property of compressed concrete is completely researched.
