On the Refractive Laser Doppler Velocimetry

In order to measure lateral movement displacement velocity of a transparent object,a refractive laser Doppler velocimetry was proposed,based on laser heterodyne interference technique,and Doppler effect velocity measurement adopted in this system was also studied.Firstly,the interference between signal beam and reference beam was realized by heterodyne interferometer system,then,the waveform intensity of coherent beam was recorded by signal detection system.Secondly,the intensity of coherent waveform was analyzed by signal analysis software to obtain the beat frequency of interference light beam,namely,the frequency difference between signal beam and reference beam.Finally,the displacement velocity of prism moving perpendicularly to incident light can be obtained by using beat frequency data.The measurement error of the system was also analyzed.Experimental results show that for given displacement velocities,such as 20,80,140,200 μ m / s,the measurement deviations are less than 1.5%,and the system presents good repeatability,which confirms the validity and reliability of the system.This experimental system has high measurement accuracy and high output signal-to-noise ratio,therefore,has wide application.
