Effect of Lead Pollution on the Growth and the Activity of Superoxide Dismutase and Peroxidase in Hotpepper Seedlings

TANG Yong(Shenyang Agricultural University, Shenyang 110161, China)
The effect of lead (Pb2+) pollution on the growth and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) in hotpepper seedlings was investigated. The results indicated that Pb2+ pollution decreased the plant height and root length of the seedlings. The experiments also showed that the activity of SOD was inhibited by Pb2+ pollution, the range of sensitive concentration is 40~80mg·L-1. Moreover the activity of POD was inhibited by Pb2+ pollution, and showed resistance activity.
