Preliminary Studies on the Producing Strain of Agricultural Antibiotic TS99

A new Streptomyces fungicidicus strain YH9407was isolated from a soil sample collected in Dandong,Liaoning Province.It produces a new antibiotic,with a strong inhibition against phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria.The strain YH9407grows well on most media.The aerial mycelium is white to gray,and the vegetative mycelium is normally faint yellow.The culture is non-chromogenic or only yellow pigment is produced.The sporophores are curviform or straight,about0.17~0.22μm,and the spores are spherical or oval to ellipsoidal,(0.6~0.8)μm×(0.8~1.2)μm;The strain YH9407was compared with known species on the mycological prop-erties and identified as a new strain of Streptomyces fungicidicus,which was named as S.fungicidicus No.YH9407.
