Effects of Comprehensive Psychological Intervention on Emotion and Carbohydrate Metabolism in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Objective To analyze the effects of comprehensive psychological intervention on emotion and carbohydrate metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods The control group was treated only with medical therapy,whereas the intervention group both with medical therapy and psychological intervention.The change of emotion was assessed with symptom checklist-90(SCL-90)before the treatment and the end of the fourth week.The fasting blood sugar,blood sugar in the 2 hour after meal and glycosylation hemoglobin were measured at the same time.Results After the treatment,the scores of depression,anxiety,somatization and obsession-compulsion in the intervention group were lower than that in the control group.Fasting sugar and blood sugar in the 2 hour after meal were lower in the intervention group compared with the control group.Conclusions The comprehensive psychological intervention can effectively improve emotion and level of blood sugar of patients with diabetes mellitus.
