Desolation Had Fogged The Luxuriant Woods Everywhere——From The Loving Narration of Novels of The Beauty-and-Talented-Scholar Type to Comprehend The Ploysemic Love Between Baoyu and Daiyu in a Dream of Red Mansions

ZHONG Xiaohua
In A Dream of Red Mansions, the characters commented on the novels of the beauty-and-talented-scholar type in a purposeful and explicit view. The pertinence makes us find comparative study horizons, which have the internal logical relations. Thus the love of Baoyu--Daiyu, the focal love story in Grand View Garden, has broken the stereotype and illusion of the novels of the beauty-and-talented-scholar type and became a new ideological spring about love. In my thesis, the narrative texts' comparison and close reading have been considered on the historical background with regard to the conflict and choice of the ya-su culture. With the interpretation of love-mechanism, we can comprehend Cao Xueqin's clinging feelings, recognitory spirit and extramundane consciousness when he wanted to "test love" by focusing on Baoyu--Daiyu.
