An improved static correction method of converted P-SV wave.

The static correction method of converted P-SV waves is always a problem in converted wave processing. There are many methods to solve this problem, of which the common-receiver-point stack traces coherent algorithm is an effective one when the underground structure is smooth. However, when the underground structure is too steep or the structure is complex, the true value of statics cannot be calculated by this method. Through theoretical derivation and experiment, the improved algorithm based on the common-receiver-point stack traces coherent algorithm was found to be suitable for the complex underground structure. The improved algorithm has three steps; 1) estimating the statics; 2) selecting the best coherent time window from the common-receiver-point stack profile for the coherent computation and calculating the statics; 3) correcting the value of "statics" by the underground structures corresponding to the formation of the P waves. Being verified by the model and actual data, the method is proved to be effective in resolving the problem of statics in the complex structure.
