Zheng Junmao (China University of Geosciences) Ying Fengxiang (Scientific Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, Beijing)  
Sandstone reservoir intercalated in coal-bearing series with medium is characterized by low content of carbonate cement, high content of siliceous cement and rich kaolinite in clay minerals. In the influence of various diagenesis, especially compaction and siliceous cementation, the sandstone reservoir of Permian-Carboniferous coal-bearing system in Northern China is the type of low porosity and permeability. Its pore type is mainly second pores. Epidiagenesis is the mainly factor to form good sandstone reservoir. The study of the tectonic history of Permian Carboniferous system in Northern China shows that there were two uplifts from Indo-Sinian to late Yanshanian epoch, the sandstone were subjected to weathering and leaching, the minerals such as feldspar were commonly dissolved, lots of secondary pores were developed, so the reservoir property is improved. The development of secondary pores of zone is closely related to erosion interface (unconformity), the far from the erosion surface, the low porosity is.
