Hydrocarbon accumulation and exploratory orientation in the western marginal basin of the northern South China Sea

He Jiaxiong~(1) Xia Bin~1 Wang Zhixin~3 Liu Baoming~1 Sun Dongshan~2(1.Key Laboratory for Marginal Sea Geology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Guangzhou 510640,China;2.Western Nanhai Research Institute,China National Offshore Oil Corporation,Zhanjiang 524057,China;3.Basin Research Center,China University of Petroleum,Beijing 100083,China)
The research level and exploratory degree in the western marginal basin of the northern South China Sea are still lower. The geological conditions for hydrocarbon accumulation in this area are complex.According to data of geology, geophysics and geochemistry, the migration-accumulation rule and exploratory orientation in the western marginal basin of the northern South China Sea were discussed by using comprehensive geological analysis. The new exploratory and research orientation for different area was proposed.
