Assay of Cyclic Nucleotide Content in the Mucosa of Gastric Cancer and Cancertransitional Area
Zhu Yanyun et al
This paper reports the assay of the cAMP and cGMP content in the mucosa of 31
cases of gastric cancer and 9 cases of cancer-transitional area by competitive protein bind-
ing assay method. The content of cAMP in gastric cancer is lower than that in normal
mucosa, with relatively highest in papillar adenocarcinoma and lowest in mucosa
adenocarcinoma. These show that there is some relationship between the content of cAMP
and the degree of differentiation of cancer,cGMP could not be detected except 4 cases with
minute amount. The content of cAMP in cancer-transitional mucosa as compared with the
cancer tissue showed no statistical significance. It is suggested that there is already certain
metabolic change in caner—transitional mucosa.
