Chemical constituents from the decoction of Coptis chinensis Franch

Objective To study the chemical constituents from the decoction of Coptis chinensis Franch..Methods Compounds were isolated and purified by silica gel,sephadex LH-20,polyamide and HPLC column chromatography and their chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral analyses.Results Twenty-two compounds were isolated and identified as:berberine(1),palmatine(2),coptisine(3),epiberberine(4),jatrorrhizine(5),columbamine(6),groenlandicine(7),magno-florine(8),8-oxocoptisine(9),5-O-feruloyl-D-quinic acid(10),4-O-feruloyl-D-quinic acid(11),3-methoxy-4-hydroxybenzoic acid(12),ferulic acid(13),vanillic acid-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(14),3-(3′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)-(2R)-lactic acid-4′-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(15),3-(4′-hydroxyphenyl)-(2R)-lactic acid(16),3-(3′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)-(2R)-lactic acid(17),3-(3′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)-(2R)-lactic acidmethyl ester(18),isolarisiresinol-9-O-β-D-glucopy-ranoside(19),(+)-pinoresinol-4,4′-O-β-D-diglucopyranoside(20),7S,8R,8′R-(+)-larisiresnol-4,4′-O-β-D-diglucopyranoside(21),7S,8R,8′R-(+)-larisiresinol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(22).Conclusions Compounds 16,18 and 19 are isolated from Coptis genus for the first time.Compounds 15,16,18-22 are isolated from C.Franch.for the first time.
