Study on detecting crack in railway track slab based on image processing technology

The surface cracks of railway track slab will directly affect the service life and state of track slab,so the automatic detection of the track slab surface quality is very important. A non-contact track slab surface quality detection method based on image processing was proposed in this paper,which will enhance the crack information in the original image by pre-processing and exactly determine the crack location according to characteristics of the pre-processed crack image after such steps as binaryzation,crack merging and noise removal. The tests verified that the method proposed in this paper can effectively detect the cracks in the railway track slab images.
