YANG Jian-qiang;School of Philosophy,Renmin University of China;
Not exactly the same as the Doctrine of Zhongshu,the Doctrine of Xieju is an improvement and amendment to the Doctrine of Zhongshu. The Doctrine of Xieju focuses on the priority of forgiveness and clarifies the commensurabilities among people. Besides,its theoretical model is a comprehensive conclusion about the human relations. The Doctrine of Xieju indicates that the starting point of Confucian ethics is a "relational individualism". The ethical thinking process of judging other people's feelings by one's own displays its pervasiveness. As the thinking method of Confucian ethics,the Doctrine of Xieju allows it to conform more to loving otherness and even more embodies the ethical spirit of equalitarianism.
