Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometric Determination of Trace Arsenic in Iron Ore Using Hydride Generation in Basic Mode

A method was developed for the determination of trace arsenic in iron ore using hydride generation in basic mode.The sample was microwave digested and As(Ⅴ) was reduced to As(Ⅲ) in the presence of thiourea and L-cysteine.The solution was adjusted to pH 10 with 1 mol/L KOH.The instrumental operating conditions were optimized.The detection limit was 0.35 μg/L.The analytical results obtained for the reference materials(YSB14721-98,YSB14722-98,YSBC11216-94) by the proposed method agreed quite well with those of the certified values.The RSD was in the range of 2.0%-9.4% and the spiked recovery was in the range of 95%-103%.
