RESEARCH ON THE MOLDING TECHNOLOGY OF BORON CARBIDE REFRACTORY GREEN BODIES

In order to obtain the optimal conditions of making green compacts with boron carbide waste,the type of binder,the content of binder,the pressing pressure and the pressing time were studied in this paper. It showed that the density and compressive strength reached 1.406 g/cm~3 and 27.9 MPa respectively when the content of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose was 1.0%,the pressing pressure was 100 MPa and the pressing time was 120 s. This is optimum effect. So 1.0% hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose,100 MPa pressing pressure and 120 s pressing time were the optimal conditions were the optimal conditions.
