Feasibility Analysis of Air Injection in a Low Permeability Reservoir

Based on the investigation and study of air injection principle and reservoir adaptability,as for the geology features of a low-permeability sandstone reservoir in block X in China,the adaptability evaluation of air injection in the block is carried out,and the development mode of reservoir determined preliminarily is air injection.Infiltration experi-ment of oil-water and oil-gas phase in lab is performed.Using filtration theory of oil-water and oil-gas,and oil reservoir engineering and gas reservoir engineering methods,based on the analysis of productivity factor and air intake factor,reservoir fracture pressure and gas injection capacity,reasonable gas injection pressure and amount in block M of low permeability reservoir are determined.Finally five development schemes are predicted and compared by numerical sim-ulation technique,it is concluded that the effect of gas injection is better than that of water injection;air injection devel-opment in block M will be further testified;and the optimum development scheme is chosen.Based on the option criteria of air injection reservoir,analysis of adaptability of block M of X reservoir is carried out from gas injection capability and numerical simulation etc.,which provides effective method for the similar reservoirs developed by air injection.
