ZHANG Fang,XU Weifeng,LI Guangming,ZHAO Xiuhua(State Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Resource Reuse,Tongji University,Shanghai,200092,China)
Based on the data of Shanghai's statistical yearbook-2004 and the new parameters in Redefining Progress' household ecological footprint calculator,Shanghai's ecological footprints and ecological carrying capacity are calculated and analyzed. The results show that Shanghai is a region with a severe deficit both in ecological footprint(2.64 hm~2 per capita) and ecological carrying capacity(0.26 hm~2 per capita). Its ecological deficit comes up to 2.38 hm~2 per capita. In addition,Shanghai's 10 000 yuan ecological footprint is relatively low, which indicates an improvement of resource-utilizing and an optimal conversion of the economic growth mode.
