Determination of icariin in supercritical fluid extracts of epimedium by RP-HPLC

Objective:To determine the content of icariin in supercritical fluid extracts of Epimedium by RP-HPLC.Methods:The sample was separated on a C18 column(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) with the mobile phase of methanol-0.1 % acetic acid in water solution as gradient eluent.The flow rate was 1 mL·min-1 and the detection wavelength was set at 270 nm.Results:The calibration curve was linear in the range of 0.212~2.12 μg for icariin;The average recovery was 98.7%,RSD=1.18%(n=6).Conclusion: The method is rapid and accurate.It can be used as a method of quality control for supercritical fluid extracts of epimedium.
