The Usefulness of CT Virtual Endoscopy ERCP in Biliary Diseases

Objective To evaluate the usefulness of CT virtual endoscopy (CTVE) in ERCP postoperative patients with biliary diseases.Methods Spiral CTs were performed in 26 patients after ERCP.The raw image data were transfered to a post processing workstation to recoustruct CTVE images.Results Of the 26 patients,5 had no significant abnormality,14 bile duct stones,5 tumors and 2 choledochal narrowings.In normal cases,the wall of biliary was smooth and its cavity size was regular;In bile duct stone cases,protuberant lesions were clearly revealed and the wall of biliary ducts were normal.In cancer cases,there were obstruction in biliary cavity.The surface of the lesion and surround biliary wall was irragular.Conclusion CTVE is valuable and feasible technique for revealing biliary diseases.It can show detailed changes in biliary cavity and get satisfied image as similar as fiberour endoscopy.
