Objective To study the effects of low molecular weight heparin(LMWH) on the curative effect and cerebral blood flow in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods Ninety patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into two groups:control group(n=30) receiving routine drug treatment and treatment group(n=60) treated with LMWH and routine drug treatment. The changes of the neurological dysfunction score, activity of daily life(ADL) and the level of cerebral blood flow before and after treatment were observed. Results There were significant differences in neurological dysfunction and ADL score before and after treatment in both control and treatment group(P0.01).Compared with control group, the neurological dysfunction and ADL score in treatment group improved remarkably(P0.01).The vascular pulsatility index(PI) and vascular resistance index(RI) had significant differences before and after treatment in both control and treatment group(P0.01).Compared with control group, the PI and RI in treatment group improved more remarkably(P0.01).There were no obvious side effects in both two groups. Conclusion It is suggested that LMWH could promote the recovery of neural function of patients with acute cerebral infarction, and the mechanism might be related with the improving of regional cerebral blood flow after cerebral infarction.
