Optimization of algae and oil production of Chlorella ellipsoidea transformed with rotavirus gene

To investigate the effect of rotavirus gene manipulation on the production of algae and oil of Chlorella ellipsoidea,and get the best culture conditions,Western Blot method was adopted to detect and validate the successful establishment of C.ellipsoidea bioreactor. Then,the wild and transgenic C. ellipsoidea were cultured in different nitrogen concentrations at different pH. The results showed that transgenic C. ellipsoidea could express foreign gene and produce target protein successfully,but the introduction of exogenous gene decreased the production of algae and oil indeed. When the concentration of nitrogen source in the medium was 3 g/L and the initial pH value was 5,the productions of algae powder and oil from transgenic C. ellipsoidea were higher.
