Analysis of pathogenic bacteria and drug resistance in diabetic patients with infection

Objective:To investigate the pathogenic bacteria and drug resistance in diabetic patients complicated infection and provide the scientific basis for reasonable using antibiotics.Methods: 1 489 cases of diabetic patients were analyzed retrospectively.The patients' general situation,position of accompanying infection and bacterial culture reports were recorded.Results: In 1 489 cases of diabetes,641 cases were complicated by infection and the rate was 43.0%.The infections were mainly in the urinary system,respiratory system,skin and soft tissue,the rates were 58.8%,28.9% and 6.9% respectively.The pathogens separated were mainly bacterium(accounts for 95.7%),others were the fungi.The main bacteria were Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus epidermidis and enterococcus faecalis,their detection rates respectively were 32.9%,11.3% and 9.1%.Escherichia coli were higher resistance to ampicillin,levofloxacin and gentamicin(73.0%,38.2% and 38.2%).Conclusion: The selection of antibiotics according to the results of bacterial culture can significantly increase efficacy and control the growth of resistant organism in diabetic patients complicated infection.
