EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON SIDE REACTION OF GLUCOCORTICOIDS AN-TAGONZED WITH ZHUANGGUSHEN-BAO

The antagonism of side effect due to using glucocorticoids (GC) long - term in rats by Zhiiang Gu Shen Bao (ZGSB) which consist of several Chinese medicine: Astragslus Mim-brauact'iis Epimedium grandiflorum Morr. and Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz was investigated. The indexes of blood, important organ and bone tissue were measured. The results showed that the rats being administrated GC could be caused a glucocorticoids -induced osteoporosis (GC-OP) and adrenocortical atrophy. But rats administrated GC + ZGSB didn't occur GC -OP and other side reaction. It conformed that the ZGSB may be good for en-hanciny anti - infalmmatory action and decreasing adverse.
