EFFECT OF VARIOUS DRUGS AND THEIR COMPAT IBILITY OF STRENGTHENING HEALTHY QI ON INDUCING SMMC-7721 CELL DIFFERENTIAT ION

Objective:To investigate the effect of various drugs for strengthening healthy Qi and their compatibility on inducing SMMC-7721 hepatocarcinoma cell differ entiation and the mechanism. Methods:some herbs for strengthening healthy Qi,which were often used to tre at live cancer in clinic,such as qi tonics,yang tonics,shen tonics a nd yin tonics were selected and divided into four complex groups accordin g to the Yin-Yang principle,then decocted,administrated the rats via gavage and separared the pharmacal sera for using on SMMC-7721 cells in vitro.Normal se ra of rats and Retinal acid as controls.HE stain method was applied to observe c ell morphosis,AFP and cAMP were measured by RIA,Albumin by ELISA. Results:Albumin secretion and cAMP of the cell increased,AFP secretion decreased in each compatibility group and the ratio of the cell nucleus to plasma decreas ed. Conclusions:The study showed that Yin tonics such as Glehnia Root,Ophio pogon Root and their compatibility Qi,Yang,Shen tonics can remarkably indu ce SMMC-7721 cell differentiation.The mechanism is that the strengthen healthy Qi herbs can increase cAMP,therefore induce hepaotcarcinoma cell differenti ation.
