In this paper, the concept of the undeformed pretension of cable is intro-duced first. Taking the undeformed pretension as a control variable, a model tosimulate the tension control process is formulated.In construction, that thegirder will gradually separate from the supports is considered by means of thesolution of the problem in optimigation. Study on some practical examples showsthat the present method is both simple and easy to be implemented, leadingthe tension to reach the design state rapidly. The method is also applicable toother construction methods.
