DETERMINATION OF THE VERTICAL BEARING CAPACITY OF BENT PILES

Tu Yumin; Wei Rulong (Zhejiang University) (Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute)  
Taking steel - pipe pile for example, this paper has studied the handing behavior of steel - pipe pile subjected to horizontal soil displacement. In view of this the vertical beating capacity behavior of such pile has also been studied. The conclusion is that the vertical bearing capacity of pile will be greatly reduced when the pile has been bent by lateral soil pressure.
