NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF PILE RESPONSE DUE TO UNSUPPORTED EXCAVATION-INDUCED LATERAL SOIL MOVEMENT

In this paper,three-dimensional elasto-plastic finite-element method is employed to study pile response due to unsupported excavation-induced soil movements. Influences of various parameters on pile response are investigated, including three dimensional effect of excavation, excavation depth, diaphragm wall stiffness, distances between diaphragm wall and pile, pile stiffness and pile-head constraint condition.
