Study on the Volatile Oil of Flos lonicerae by Supercritical CO_2 Extraction and Its Anti-inflammatory Activity

To optimize the supercritical CO_2 extraction process of volatile oil in Flos lonicerae and to study the anti-inflammatory activity of the extracted product,the influences on temperature,pressure,CO_2 flowing and extracting time to the volatile oil by supercritical CO_2 extraction were observed.The optimum extraction was investigated by the orthogonal design.Anti-inflammatory activity was studied by mouse ear swelling model.The optimum extracting conditions were: the temperature 35 ℃,the pressure 12 MPa,the CO_2 flowing 4.0 kg/h and time 1.5 h.The extraction rate was 1.08 % and as 43.2 times high as that by the steam distillation method.The supercritical CO_2 extracting volatile oil was of potent anti-inflammatory effect on the ear swelling model in mice.This optimized process is simple,stable,efficient and the anti-inflammatory effect of the extracted oil is potent.
