STUDY ON MICROSCOPIC PERCOLATION EXPERIMENTS FOR CONDENSATE GAS RESERVOIRS

Shi Zhiliang, Li Xiangfang, Sui Xiuxiang (China Petroleum University), Zhu Weiyao and Shan Wenwen (Percolation Mechanics Institute of China Sciences Academy).  
It can provide important theoretical basis for exploitation of condensate gas reservoirs to understand the generation, distribution and flowing law of condensate oil. An experimental method is proposed to study the distribution and flowing law of condensate oil in the zones near the borehole. The microscopic phantom glass model with similar pore structure as the real reservoir is used to simulate the porous media of the reservoir, and the distribution and flowing law of condensate liquid is observed in the model under high temperature and pressure. The study results show the condensate oil accumulates at the small pores, pore throats, some death pores and pore walls easily, and gradually evolves to form plugs. It is difficult for condensate oil to accumulate at big pores. The flowing manner of condensate oil mainly includes the three types of schlep by gas, crawls along pore walls and plug flow.
