EXPLORATION POTENTIAL OF LARGE QINGSHEN GAS FIELD IN THE SONGLIAO BASIN

Qingshen gas field is a large gas field discovered in deeper part of the Songliao Basin with geological reserves over 100 BCM. Volcanic rock and glutenite are the main reservoir rocks and the gas pools are dominated by lithologic and structural-lithologic reservoirs and characterized by large thickness of pay zone, high abundance of gas resources and high quality of gas. According to analysis of reservoiring conditions, the high-post mature dark mudstones and coal beds developed in the fault depression are the material bases for the formation of this large gas field. The volcanic rock complexes composed of 4 volcanic rock subfacies and the glutenite with relatively high content of sand provide the reservoir space for the formation of the large gas field. Under the reservoiring background with source rock underlying reservoir rock, various reservoir rocks vertically superimposed and laterally connected in the fault depression lead to the formation of various gas pools dominated by lithologic gas reservoirs, which have high exploration potentials.
