Discussion on Research Results of Runoff and Sediment Load Variation in the Yellow River

Xu Mingquan Yang Xiaoqing (International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation,Beijing 100044)  
The four relative research results organized by the Research Foundation of Runoff and Sediment Load Variation in Yellow River, MWR, the Research Foundation of Water and Soil Conservation,YRCC, the National Foundation of Natural Sciences and National Projects on Tackling Key Technical problems in the period of 8th Five Year Plan had comprehensively been analysed .Some common understanding in variation of runoff and sediment load in Yellow River had been gained and some differences in the quantity also had been discussed. The quantitative variation of runoff and sediment load in the basin of the Middle Yellow River due to the effects of hydro projects and water conservation measures was suggested as a current result.
