Assessment of bioavailability of heavy metal in contaminated soils with chemical fractionation

Chemical speciation of heavy metal is hot topic in soil science,plant nutrition,and environmental science.Many scientists have developed many different sequential extraction procedures for chemical fractions.Assessment of bioavailability of heavy metal in contaminated soils with chemical fractionation,it is significance for us to fully understand the harms of heavy metals,and treat heavy metal contaminated soils.The result showed that the water soluble fraction and exchangeable species of metals are quite available for plants.However,the metals with residual fraction are the most difficult to be released.The other fractions such as bound to carbonate fraction,iron and manganese oxides,and organic matter,are usually to be readily available for plant uptake if conditions changed.
