Effect of Phosphatic Fertilizer on Growth of Rice on Zinc Deficient Soil

Li Yan(Department of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Fujian Agricultural University. Fuzhou 350002)Pan Weibin(Minxi Vocational University, Longyan 364021)
Application of phosphatic fertilizer at large doses accentuated the zinc deficiency symptom and decreased the grain yield of rice grown on secondary calcareoussoil. High P levels did not decrease the content of soil available zinc but affected thetranslocation of zinc in plant, whereas this had little effect on zinc content of rice leaves.Phosphorus/zinc imbalance causing zinc inactivation in plant was the main reason for inducing zinc deficiency.
