Fashion and Path:Constructing Scholarly Families in South Yangtze River Area of Ming Dynasty and Its Implication

In Chinese cultural history,scholarly families,as a cultural symbol,have the traditions of reading,learning and engaging in mundane life. There were several reasons for the forming of scholarly families in south Yangtze River area of Ming Dynasty: well-developed compiling and printing industry, prevailing private book libraries and book-copying. This article sorts out the development experience of scholarly families,indicating that scholarship should avoid empty social values and utilitarian family education.
