Design of Two-way Substrate Integrated Waveguide Power Divider in Ka-band

The rectangular waveguide power divider theory and the substrate integrated waveguide characteristics such as high Q and low insertion loss are uesd to design the substrate integrated waveguide power divider.An substrate integrated waveguide power divider in Ka-band is designed and simulated through the High Frequency Structure Simulator( HFSS). Simulation results show that the input and output reflection losses are better than-20 dB, the insertion loss is less than 0.6 dB.According to the simulation result, a power divider has be made. The insertion loss is less than 1.5 dB and the combining efficiency is above 60% within the bandwidth of27 GHz to 32 GHz. The tolerance mainly comes from machining process errors and the fixed loss and weld loss of 2.4 mm microstrip connector.The result can be optimized by improving machining accuracy.
