Theotetical and Experimental Research of Hole Flanging on Thick-wall Cylinders with Nozzles

The forming mechanism of hole flanging process on a thick-wall heavy cylinder is simulated,and influence of the workpiece's preparatory hole diameters and passes on the hole flanging process is investigated by experiment and numerical simulation in the paper.The results show that experiments are accordant with numerical simulation and when the preparatory hole is reverse-conical and its mean diameter is 11 mm,acceptable nozzle sizes can be obtained after hole flanging on thick-wall cylinders.
