Bulky numerical simulation of large scale heavy oil reservoir

Here not only demonstrates the parallel computing functions of NUMSIP model, i.e. block calculation and regional segregation, but present a set of numerical simulation method for large scale and bulky reservoir, including data arranging, model building, typical block match to determine basic parameters, individual block calculation, bulky parallel calculation and so on. Application of this method in studying residual oil contained in Lian II formation, Huanxiling oilfield shows it is almost mature in utilizing NUMSIP software for modeling the development bulky reservoir with steam drive. Residual oil distribution can be understood through dynamic history match by using this method with high reliability and lower cost. Moreover, it has opened new way for residual oil study and possessed great significance for guiding production.
