Expression of PCNA and P~(53) in fetal esophageal epithelium and their relationship with cell proliferation

Objective To study the expression of PCNA and p53 in fetal esophageal epithelium and their relationship with cell proliferation . Methods Immunohistochemical avdin-biotin peroxidase complex (ABC) technique was used to detect the expression of PCNA and tumor suppressor gene p53 in fetal esophagus. Results PCNA immunostain-positive cells were observed in all fetal esophageal samples. The average number of positive immunoreactivity cells per mm is 506±239. There were significant differences( P 0.05) between the fetal PCNA positive immunoreacivity cells with different stage of adult esophageal epithelia. Positive immunoreactivity cells of r were located in the nuclei in dark brown, and the positive rate was 10% (3/31). Conclusions The expression of PCNA and P53 reflect the active proliferative status of fetal esophageal epithelium.
