Neural mechanism of electroacupuncture regulating the gastric motality function

Objective Electroacupuncture can regulate gastric motality while it's mechanism is still unknown.We explore if electrocacupuncture (EA) can regulate gastric motality and the mechanism.Methods By using the electrophysiological methed,we observed the change of the nucleus tractus sotitarius(NTS)and darsal motor nudeus of Vagus(DMV)when the acupoints such as Tsusanli,Shangchuhsu,and Some non acupoint were electro acupuntured.In the meantime,we observed the change of the electric activity in the NTS,MDV and the gastric electric under the denervation.Results The change of electric activity is significant in NTS,DMV by EA at Tsusanli.There are no any change when we EA at Tsuanli and other acupoint under denervation.Conclusion Electroacupunture can regulate gastric motality.This function depends on the integrity of nervous system and the function connects with activating of the NTS and DMV.
