Objective To investigate changes and their significance of T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood and ascitic fluid of patients with liver cirrhosis. Methods The levels of T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood and ascitic fluid were detected by flow cytometer in 31 cases of liver cirrhosis. Fifteen cases of normal person acted as control group. Results The levels of T lymphocyte(CD3+), helper/inducer T lymphocyte(CD4+)and ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in peripheral blood obviously decreased in peripheral blood of patients with liver cirrhosis compared with those in normal person(P0.01). The levels of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+ and CD4+/CD8 in ascitic fluid in patients were significantly lower than those in peripheral blood (P0.01). Conclusion The levels of T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood and ascitic fluid of patients with liver cirrhosis are obviously abnormal. Systemic immunity and local immunity of peritoneal cavity of patients are weak.
