Accurate Calculation of Quadrature-axis and Direct-axis Armature Reaction Reactance for a Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine

In the paper,calculated the quadrature-axis and direct-axis armature reaction reactance calculated through exerting the quadrature-axis and direct-axis armature current respectively without considering permanent magnet,based on electromagnetic FEM.The calculation results were not accurate using the method,and analyzed the reasons of error.Presented a new method presented to calculate the quadrature-axis and direct-axis armature reaction reactance accurately,which considered the actual operation condition of the permanent magnet synchronous generator and the crossing saturation effect between quadrature-axis and direct-axis.Results consistent with the theoretical analysis,have some practical value.
