Synthesis and Fabrication of Nanostructured Materials

Nanostructured materials are solids consisting of small crystals which are less than about 100 nm in characteristic dimensions. The properties of nanostructured materials differ from the ones of a coarse grained materials with the same chemical composition, resulted from the drastically reduced dimensionality of the crystallites and the fact that a considerable fraction of the atoms located in the interfaces. Some of the recent research progress in synthesis and fabrication of nanostructured materials including powders,thin films, bulk materials through chemical and physical methods is reviewed in this paper.
