STUDIES ON THE SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THE COMPLEXES OF THE RARE EARTH NITRATE WITH 2, 4-DIKETO-16-CROWN-5 ETHER

Thirteen solid complexes of the rare earth nitrate with 2,4-diketo-16-crown-5 ether (L) have been synthesized and characterized by the elementalanalyses, IR, UV and 1~H NMR spectra, DTA and TG. These complexes have two stoiehiometries of the rare earth nitrate with the ligand:1),3:2, [Ln(NO_2)3]3·L_2 (Ln=La(Ⅲ), Ce(Ⅲ) and Pr(Ⅲ); 2) 1:1, Ln(NO_3)_3(4). L(Ln=Ce(Ⅳ), Nd(Ⅲ),Sm(Ⅲ), Eu(Ⅲ), Gd(Ⅲ), Er(Ⅲ),Yb(Ⅲ),Lu(Ⅲ) andY(Ⅲ)). These complexes are different from the L. The tautomerism both kito-form and enol-form only in the complexes has been borne out by the IR and UV spectra but none tautomerism in L alone. From the changes of v_c=o bands in the IR spectra and the chemical shift of protons of the complexes in 1~H NMR Spectra, It express that there is coordination between the rare earth ion with exocyclic oxygen atoms in the L.The NO_3~- anions in the complexes are diligand (C_2v) because they have five group freqency bands in the IR spectra Added Ln-O (ether) coot dination bond, The ligancy of the rare earth cation is about eleven
