Study on the Key Techniques and Realization Channels Using Optical Fabric Sensors in Civil Engineering Detection

Three types of optical fabric sensors which are used in engineering detection are introduced in this paper; a few key techniques concerning cross sensitivity between temperature and strain, the selection of optical fiber coating materials, the realization of optical fiber sensor crafts and so on, are analyzed afterwards. The above problems can be solved with the creation of a new type of optical fiber sensors which, based on the experimental results, underlies the effective applying channels for this optical fiber sensor to be used in civil engineering detection on a large scale.
