Mechanical Calculation of Several Plastic Forming Processes for Powder Metallurgical Materials

Plastic forming is an important process for powder metallurgical materials, but the classic plasticity theory based on the volume constancy for fully dense materials can′t be applied to the powder metallurgical materials. The basic properties of plastic deformation such as mass conservation, smaller Poisson′s ratio, hydrostatic pressure having effect on the yield etc. For powder metallurgical materials are explained briefly. The mechanical laws of plastic deformation for powder metallurgical materials in uni axial compression, repression and plate upsetting are analyzed based on a generalized plasticity theory, the relations between deformation pressure and relative density of preform are derived, which is the basis of technology design of plastic forming.
