A Generalized Upper Bound Method for Powder Metallurgical Material in Plastic Plane Strain

Powder metallurgical material is compressible in plastic deformation. Its plasticity method needs to be further researched. Based on the yield criterion and plastic potential theories, a plastic constitutional relation, yield condition and yield curve equation in plane strain for powder metallurgical material were derived. Some plastic behaviors such as yield plane, slip and velocity discontinuity in plane strain were also revealed. Furthermore, a generalized upper bound method for powder metallurgical material in plane strain was developed and its application was illustrated by analyzing the plane strain extrusion.
