Preparation of NiMn_(1.5)Fe_(0.5-χ)Ti_χO_4 Thermistor and Their Properties

The negative temperature coefficient(NTC) thermistors,NiMn1.5Fe0.5χTiχO4(0χ≤0.5),were prepared by using a traditional solid-state reaction process.The effect of TiO2 on the micro-crystal phase,morphology of the microstructure and the electric properties of the ceramic were investigated through X-ray powder diffraction、SEM and electrical conductivity measurements.The results showed that the addition of TiO2 into MnNiFe system did not change the typical structure of Spinel for the thermistor.However,the micro-crystals of the ceramics begin to be smaller and denser as the introduction of TiO2 into composition.The result was probably ascribed to a dragging effect between the added TiO2 and the grain boundaries of Ti ion in the process of sintering ceramic.The addition of TiO2 improved the properties of resistance change of thermistors and stability of the electric properties obviously.
