STUDIES ON RARE-EARTH COMPLEXES OF CROWN ETHER VII.COMPLEXES OF LIGHT RARE-EARTH PERCHLORATES WITH 2,3,11,12-TETRAPHENYL-1,4,7,10,13,16-HEXAOXO-2,11-CYCLOOCTADECADIENE

Five new complexes of the light rare-earth (Ⅲ) perchlorates with the title unsaturated crown ether L have been synthesized. These complexes were identified by elemental analyses, UV, IR and 1HNMR spectra. The chemical formulas of the complexes are LnC38H38O19Cl3 ( Ln= La, Ce, Pr and Nd ) and SmC36H40O20Cl3. The free L exhibits intraligand UV spectra bands at 203, 217-219, 255-256 and 291-296 nm in anhydrous ethanol. The complexation with the light rare-earth causes a red shift, a change of shape and a disapearance of the small peak in 255-256nm. Infrared spectra of the complexes are similar to each other.On the complexes formations these bands of two characteristic absorption peaks ( = C-0 and C-O-C) of the free L are shifted to tower energy. The 1HNMR spectra show two broad multiplet peaks due to the different protons on the L, the upfield peak of δH of complexes is shifted to the lower magnetic field and split.
